FileAdmin Documentation

Overview

FileAdmin is a web based utility that allows for user authentication to a virtual file system. Once in the virtual file system a user can download, upload or modify files in the system.

• General Users
  • Users can be setup with individual access for uploading, downloading and modifying files.
  • Groups can be created to allow for grouping of individual users.
  • Files uploaded can be assigned to predefined folders, and groups.
  • Retrieval of forgotten passwords.
  • Maintenance of personal profile.
    
    
• Administration Users
  • Access to all files in the virtual file system.
  • Maintenance of all users of the system.
  • Add, Modify or Delete groups.
  • Add, Modify or Delete file folders
  • View statistics on files uploaded or downloaded.

Login and Signup
When accessing the FileAdmin web site a customizable splash page is displayed. From this page a user can login or signup for an account.
If a user is not logged and tries to access the File Maintenance area or clicks the Login link the login page will automatically get displayed. At the login screen a user has the ability to signup for new account. If a user forgot their password, this is the page that will take them to the File Administration area for retrieving lost passwords.

File Maintenance Area
Once logged in the user will be taken back to the splash page. From the splash page the File Maintenance area can be entered. What will be shown are any files available for that user and/or files within the users group.
